Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Health (MINSA) has, as of this Tuesday (15th), a vehicle to facilitate the transport of preserved vaccines, intended for the population of regions of the country that are difficult to access.
The Toyota branded vehicle (all terrain), a donation from the Japanese multinational Toyota Tsusho Corporation, is equipped with a vaccine refrigeration system.
The vehicle was delivered based on the memorandum of understanding initialed between MINSA entities and Toyota Toyota Tsusho, in a ceremony witnessed by the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, to whom the key was handed over.
According to the Minister of Health, Silvia Lutucuta, the vehicle, which has the capacity to pack a large capacity of vaccines at temperatures of two to eight degrees, is already certified by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international organizations linked to the manufacture and conservation of vaccines.
Speaking to the press, the official, who is part of the presidential delegation, informed that it is foreseen, for a short future, the acquisition of more means of the kind and to make them available to the provinces of the country.

For the health sector, since 1996, Japan has donated US$40 million for the rehabilitation and equipment of the Josina Machel Hospital, one of the main hospital units in the country.
As part of the national reconstruction of Angola, Japan has been providing assistance, within the framework of international organizations, in segments such as food aid, as well as assistance to farmers and the fight against poverty.
Japan’s support extends to assistance with the repatriation of refugees, water supply facilities, construction of primary schools, communication network and ports.
