Africa-Press – Angola. The Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in Cabinda plans to redouble the control of illegal immigration, a phenomenon that has worried the authorities and the population of the region in recent years.

According to the new director of the SME in Cabinda, Diogo Baltazar, it is possible to achieve better results and pay special attention to controlling illegal immigration, with everyone’s help.

Diogo Baltazar was speaking Wednesday at the ceremony in which he was presented as the new provincial director of the SME, in Cabinda, replacing the commissioner of Migration, João Joveth Ângelo.

Before assuming the position of director of the SME in Cabinda, Diogo Fortunato Baltazar exercised the functions of head of the provincial department of human resources of the SME in Luanda.

The province of Cabinda borders the Republic of Congo (RC) to the north and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the northeast, southeast and south.

It has several land and river borders, with emphasis on the two land borders, the main entry and exit ports, namely, Massabi to the north with RC and Yema to the south with DRC.
