Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-one citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were repatriated, Wednesday, by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), in the municipality of Maquela do Zombo, province of Uíge, for illegally entering and staying in the country.
The measure is part of the scope of preventing and combating illegal immigration and related crimes, explained, this Thursday, the head of the SME Department in Uíge, André Tecadiomona.
The official informed that the citizens entered the country passing through the Kimbata border post, in the municipality of Maquela Zombo (Uíge).
André Tecadiomona said that 636 citizens of the DRC were repatriated during the year 2022, surpassing the 361 of the year 2021.
He justified that the constant denunciations increased the number of illegal citizens repatriating from the country.
Regarding the issue of passports, he reported that 670 passports were issued in 2022, 666 of which were ordinary and four were service passports.
