Africa-Press – Angola. A Building of Forensic Practices, Court for practical classes of Law students of the Technical University of Angola (Utanga), which could also serve the Judiciary Region of Luanda, was inaugurated yesterday, in Kilamba Kiaxi.
The activity was co-chaired by the Counselor of the Supreme Court, Arthur Ngunza, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Utanga, Gabriel Rufino.
On the occasion, the rector of Utanga, Ilídio Pascoal Simão, said that conditions are being created, in the field of practice, so that graduates can leave with the required preparation and better serve the job market.
Without revealing the costs, he added that the Forensic Practices building, with capacity for 200 people, has a Court that complies with all the classic rituals of a gender body, with a modern aspect and allows the audio-visual transmission of all sessions that can be carried out.
Ilídio Pascoal Simão explained that the objective is not only to meet a need that they had in the practical component for students, but also to serve the judicial region of Luanda itself.
In this order of thought, he continued, the Court can serve the region of Luanda, if there is interest in using it for trials.
The rector also said that the facilities have an area for cells, offices of public prosecutors, as well as for lawyers, in order to adequately exercise their tasks in the field of justice.
He stressed that contacts were made with the Judiciary Administration of Luanda in the perspective of a partnership for the use of the space, because Utanga is located in the Kilamba Kiaxe municipality where there is a District Court.
On his turn, the secretary general of the Union of Justice Officials of Angola, Brito Teixeira, in a few words, congratulated the management’s initiative for creating conditions for the students’ practical knowledge.
