Africa-Press – Angola. Two thousand and 300 lots for self-directed construction, in the residential perimeter of 10 de Agosto, were distributed by the Municipal Administration of Cambambe, province of Cuanza Norte, within the framework of the expansion program of the city of Dondo.
Speaking to press on Wednesday, the municipal administrator, Adão António Malungo, assured that the lots are included in the mapping of the area, which includes 15 thousand plots, for the same number of families, in an area of about 70 hectares, whose process began in 2018.
The distribution of land to the population is being followed with the construction of public infrastructures, to alleviate the burden of the city of Dondo, with an estimated population of more than fifty thousand inhabitants.
It also comprises a space with 186 lots of infra-structured land, for the resettlement of the population victim of accidents, by the transhipment of the Capacala river, in May 2021, which benefited from construction materials.
Among the public infrastructures under construction in the area are the Municipal Integrated System of Services of the Ministry of the Interior, a maternal and child hospital, a school with 24 classrooms, 27 protocol residences and a residential block with 50 houses, within the framework of a project of the executive for the construction of 200 dwellings throughout the country.
Adão Malungo also assured that the 10 de Agosto project, which already benefits from electricity from the public network, also includes areas for commercial services, banks, leisure areas, sports fields, among other public and private services, and may in the near future , benefit from water and telecommunications services.
“The current less favorable economic context for families, resulting from the constant fluctuations in the prices of building materials, has negatively influenced the population of the area”, he acknowledged.
Despite this impasse, he indicated that there is a considerable number of families that have started construction, encouraging the administrative authorities, in terms of the effective use of spaces.
