Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, said Wednesday in Saurimo that the local government is committed to building more sports infrastructures in the four municipalities of the province, in order to boost various sports.
The government official who was speaking during a meeting with young people from different social strata, sports leaders, associations, among others, guided by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, said that the Government, within the policies of supporting youth, has implemented several projects for the development of this layer.
These include the construction, reconstruction and recovery of some sports courts, the Santo António community field, multipurpose pavilions at Luavur, Candembe, and sports courts in the municipalities of Cacolo, Dala and Muconda.
The official reasoned that the recovery and construction of sports infrastructures could facilitate and develop the practice of sports in several communities in the province of Lunda Sul.
Being a region with many talents in different sports, he asked for greater unity between the different associations in the province, a measure that will leverage sport in this part of the national territory.
In turn, Daniel Neto asked the Minister of Youth and Sports, to proceed with the Executive, the issue related to the resumption of works on the provincial stadium, paralyzed since 2016, for financial reasons.
In keeping with her agenda, Palmira Barbosa visited the works on the provincial stadium, Santo António community field, multipurpose pavilions at Luavur, Agostinho Neto and the 17 de Setembro club, now transformed into a venue for shows.
