Africa-Press – Angola. The Institute of Industrial Development and Technological Innovation of Angola (IDIIA) is carrying out studies that will allow readjusting the basic basket of each region of the country in the next two years, said yesterday the director, Filomena de Oliveira.

Filomena de Oliveira, who gave this information at Expo-indústria, said that IDIIA is working with the provincial integrated offices to identify the 12 most consumed products and the 12 most produced locally to allow adjustments to be made in the basic basket of each region .

This study, according to the manager, will also make it possible to identify the products needed to be integrated into the Rural Industry Development Program (PROFIR), as the ideal would be, at least in the coming years, to implement an industry in each municipality.

For you, within PROFIR there are already three industrial centers built – the one in Tomboco, in Cacuso and the other in Canjala, following seven more already scheduled.

“But more than having these industries, the important thing is to have coordination in the quality of management and execution of the State budget to avoid duplication of projects, when at least they should be complementary”, he underlined.

The 5th Edition of Expo-indústria/2023, which took place from March 29 to April 1, in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) Luanda-Bengo, returned after registering a three-year interregnum in 2019, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 19, with the participation of 200.

In terms of representation, the main sectors on display are civil construction with 22%, commerce and distribution (12%), the textile and catering sectors with 11% each, crafts (10%), oil and gas and agribusiness with 8 %, respectively, being banking and insurance, the furniture industry with five percent each and others.
