Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Egypt, Nelson Cosme, considered the 4th of April as a milestone of tolerance and magnanimity of Angolans, who united decided to embark on inclusive fraternity and solidarity for peace.
“The Day of Peace and National Reconciliation is, therefore, the journey of the broad embrace of unity in diversity, respect for difference, and tolerance, around the highest values and principles that underpin national cohesion”, he stressed, in message to the Angolan community in Egypt, as part of the celebration of the 21st anniversary of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation.
The diplomat called for reflection around the event, stating that it should be remembered as a moment for a healthy coexistence every day, without resentment and without hurt.
“Only united is it possible to build peace and happiness for all and, consequently, make the country great”, he stressed.
According to the ambassador, it is necessary to invest in promoting a feeling of peace and reconciliation.
“United we are capable of reaching this end, which should be the common objective”, he said, stressing that the achievement of this objective should aim at a better Angola, a developed Angola.
Nelson Cosme stated that reconciliation must be supported and preserved by each Angolan, wherever he is, in his own way, he must do it.
“Twenty-one years of peace, building a better Angola, reminds us of the need to think about the reconstruction of Angola and contribute to improving the living conditions of all Angolans”, he said, stressing that the moment should be used as an incentive for better days, through the reconstruction of social and economic infrastructures.
Supporting the efforts of the Executive, he stressed, it is necessary to encourage the construction and reconstruction of more schools, hospitals, roads and other infrastructures as the main material gains of peace, which has also brought some social, political and economic stability to the country in recent years. .
According to Nelson Cosme, for this path, each Angolan is called to responsibilities, to work together for a better Angola.
“This date should remind us of the commitment to do everything possible so that peace and reconciliation are the appropriate ways to evaluate and seek the development of our country”, he concluded.
