Saudi Arabia seeks support from Angola for Expo 2030

Africa-Press – Angola. The Ambassador of Angola to France, Guilhermina Prata, discussed, this Wednesday, in Paris, with the Permanent Delegate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO, Princess Haifa Al Mogrin, aspects related to Expo 2030.

During an audience at the Angolan diplomatic representation in Paris, the Saudi diplomat requested Angola’s support for her country’s candidacy to host the event, in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia.

The decision to host the universal exhibition scheduled for 2030 takes place in November this year, in France, during the Annual General Assembly of the International Bureau.

Angola, as a member of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE), has a say in decision-making regarding the holding of different universal exhibitions.

Angola and Saudi Arabia maintain cooperation relations in the political and diplomatic domain, reinforced in 2019, with the visit to Angola of a high-level delegation from that Kingdom of the Middle East.

The two countries signed, in 2018, a general technical, economic and cultural cooperation agreement.
