Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, Ana Paula de Sacramento Neto, inaugurated, on Monday, several social infrastructures in the locality of Oshivambi, municipality of Cuanhama, in Cunene, for the benefit of the community.

It is a primary education school with eight classrooms, a health post, cafeteria and community oven, expanded and equipped, worth 50 million, 564 thousand 672 kwanzas, made available by the Bai Foundation.

The school was expanded from six to eight classrooms and an emergency bench, a male ward, and a voluntary HIV/AIDS testing center were added to the health center, in an initiative by Father Apolinário Hilemushinda.

On the occasion, Ana Paula de Sacramento Neto highlighted the initiative of this integrated project that responds to the needs of the community, as it fits perfectly into the Integrated Program for Local Development to Combat Poverty.

He said that the development of a community is done with everyone’s contribution and, therefore, congratulated the Bai Foundation which, within the scope of its social responsibility, joined the mentors of the project.

“Projects like these help to reduce poverty and hunger, so we assume the commitment of the Ministry of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion to join this community and the mentors and give continuity to what is missing”, he said.

He explained that as godmother chosen for this project, together they will work seriously to implement more social facilities, in favor of improving the quality of life and well-being of the population of Oshivambe.

Ana Paula de Sacramento Neto appealed to women to help girls stay in school.

On the occasion, the bishop of the Diocese of Ondjiva, Dom Pio Hipunyati, said that the church in its missionary action has always sought to combine the trinomial chapel, school and health center, for the proclamation of the word of God, the integral formation of man and to guarantee the medical and drug assistance to people.

Pio Hipunyati underlined that this integrated project in Osihivambi responds to the needs of the population and awakens the signs for the development of the locality.

The minister’s program also reserves the holding of a seminar on the municipalization of Social Action, SIGAS training, a meeting on the monitoring and evaluation of projects linked to the Integrated Program for Local Development Combating Poverty, among others.

The town of Osivambi, 35 kilometers from the city of Ondjiva, has an estimated population of 1,600 inhabitants . PEM/LH | OHA
