Africa-Press – Angola. Questions on cooperation policies for the development of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP) were under analysis at the audience that the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, granted this Wednesday, in Luanda, to the president of the Parliamentary Assembly of this body, Ana Geremias Sithole.

During the meeting, aspects related to the partnership between the OEACP and the European Union (EU) were also addressed.

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Ana Geremias Sithole, Mozambican MP, considered it pertinent to exchange views, given the fact that João Lourenço currently assumes the presidency of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, for three years.

“The intention was to gather opinions and exchange ideas on managing the development expectations of the peoples of the Member States, as well as the development program with the EU, based on the signing of a new agreement with this European body”, he explained.

Angola assumed the Presidency of the OEACP, when the 10th Summit of Heads of States and Government of the Organization was held in Luanda, which took place from 6 to 10 December 2022.

The Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States is an international body, resulting from the evolution of the ACP Group, which brings together 79 Member States from the three continents.

Even today, in another audience, President João Lourenço spoke with the ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Kwang-Jin Choi, on issues of mutual interest, within the framework of bilateral relations between both States.
The Korean diplomat did not make any statements to the press at the end of the meeting.
