Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, left this Thursday (4th) the country’s capital, Luanda, bound for London, United Kingdom, where he will participate in the coronation ceremony of King Carlos III.
At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the statesman, who is accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, received farewell greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and other personalities of the Angolan Executive.
The ceremony takes place on Saturday (the 6th) at Westminster Abbey, in London.
With the coronation, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth will formally have a new monarch, in a ceremony that will be attended by several national and foreign entities.
The coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla as King and Queen consort of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms will be the symbolic highlight of their ascension.
The ceremony should be short but inclusive of religions and communities. It is the first coronation of a British monarch to take place in the 21st century and the 40th to take place at Westminster Abbey since 1066.
