"Plano a Pesca" finances businessmen in the sector in Zaire

Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty-eight businessmen linked to the fishing sector, in the province of Zaire, benefited, in the first quarter of this year, from bank credits, within the scope of the “Plano a Pesca” project, designed by the Angolan Government, with a view to boost fishing artisan in the region.

The information was provided this Thursday, to the press, in Soyo, by the president of the Association of Businessmen and Entrepreneurs in Zaire, Domingos Judite.

According to the source, credits valued at between eight and 10 million kwanzas were made available by the Millenium bank, and should be repaid over a period of four to five years.

He added that with these monetary values, those covered are qualified to acquire fishing artifacts to develop their activity along the maritime coast of the district.

“We believe that with this help from the Executive, we will increase the income for our families and provide more jobs for our youth”, he pointed out.

He highlighted the potential that the province of Zaire holds in different segments of the economy, with emphasis on the sectors of fisheries, mining, livestock, agriculture, salt pans, among others.

The province of Zaire has a coastline of 250 kilometers crossed by the municipalities of Soyo, Nzeto and Tomboco.

The Association of Businessmen and Entrepreneurs in Zaire controls 428 members.
