Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, participated on Friday afternoon, at Buckingham Palace, in the official reception that preceded the coronation of their majesties, King Carlos III and Queen Consort Camila.
At the event, the Head of State, who left the Angolan capital on Thursday, was accompanied by the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, according to a note published on the Facebook page of the Presidency of the Republic.
The historic event took place at Westminster Abbey in London.
The Head of State attended the coronation as a guest of the British Government.
It is the first coronation of a British monarch to take place in the 21st century and the 40th to take place at Westminster Abbey since 1066.
King Charles III succeeds Queen Elizabeth II on the throne, who died on September 8, 2022, at Balmoral Castle, United Kingdom, at the age of 96.
