Angola and Namibia evaluate bilateral cooperation

Africa-Press – Angola. Issues related to cooperation were discussed, this Sunday, in the Namibian city of Windhoek, by the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teté António, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

During a courtesy meeting held on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the SADC Double Troika plus the Contributing Countries with personnel from the Intervention Force Brigade (FIB), the two entities reviewed cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral domains.

SADC leadership, currently exercised by Namibia, was also highlighted at the meeting, as Angola will take over next August, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent.

Namibia hosts, on Monday (8th), the extraordinary summit of the SADC troika plus the Contributing Countries with FIB troops.

Angola and Namibia maintain good relations of friendship, solidarity, political, diplomatic and also cultural. Both share a vast common border.

The two states have cooperation agreements in areas such as defense and security, industry, trade, energy and waters, fisheries, tourism and transport, including a visa waiver agreement.
