Africa-Press – Angola. The national training program (Empretec) has trained, in four years, 2,000 national entrepreneurs in the agriculture and technology sectors, within the framework of the strategy of keeping the base of the projects sustainable.
With funding from the European Union, the program has the support of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), a body of the United Nations system.
In this training segment, the program is training a new group of 25 entrepreneurs in matters of entrepreneurship, whose training began this Monday.
According to the national coordinator of “Train for Trade II”, Adelino Muxito, the training is being given by national trainers already certified by UNCTAD, with the support of the European Union.
Lasting seven days, the training is expected to contribute to boosting the national economy, within the framework of the ongoing economic diversification programme.
On the occasion, the president of the Prestige League of Young Entrepreneurs of Angola, Irondino Garcia, said that they continue to work towards training new entrepreneurs within the framework of the partnership established with Empetec and other initiatives.
“Local businessmen need to speak the same language so that they can increasingly increase their turnover and profits, create new jobs, expand into other sectors and take better advantage of business opportunities in Angola”, he said.
The country has 600 Angolan businessmen who are part of the Empretec community, who are trained to be able to perform better in the market.
With the development of a critical mass of national trainers, capable of providing training to entrepreneurs in different sectors of the economy and the development of a network of entrepreneurs, the organizers believe that the necessary conditions have been met for Angola to enter a new phase in the business landscape .
On the occasion, some trainers and trainees were unanimous in saying that training is an added value for success and stability in terms of growth in their projects.
Ana Lourdes, one of the trainees, considered training as a way to promote female entrepreneurship in Angola.
“Women’s economic empowerment and their inclusion in society must become everyone’s commitment,” he said.
Maria André, another trainee, believes that being a coach at Empretec offers the possibility of helping other aspirants to reach the level of entrepreneurs and reach their potential.
“It is very rewarding to be able to pass on the power of transformation to people, to take them from point A to point B”, he said.
Empretec and the Prestígio-League of Young Entrepreneurs and Executives of Angola signed, at the beginning of this year, an agreement with UNCTAD for the coordination of future training actions.
