Africa-Press – Angola. The International Master (IM) Esperança Caxita won this Wednesday the Candidate Master (CM) from Kenya, Nyaruai Ndorangu, and rose to the 7th position of the African Chess Championship, taking place in Egypt.

The Angolan, who is looking for points to reach the unprecedented title of Grand Master (GM), occupied the 10th position until then.

The other Angolan in the individual event, master Fide (MF) Jemima Paulo, drew against Egyptian Mareim Mohammed and remains in 17th position, with 3 pts.

This athlete from the Dritrov school is coming from two wins and one draw.

The competition takes place in the Swiss system (all against all nine rounds), and the pairing is announced moments before the start of each round, in accordance with the regulations of the International Chess Federation.

The event has the participation of 18 countries, with 32 female athletes and 70 male athletes.
