Africa-Press – Angola. The Provincial Government of Cuanza Norte has recommended strengthening rigor in the selection of companies that compete for the construction of public investment projects in the province.

This recommendation appears in the final communiqué of the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Provincial Government, which took place on Thursday, in the city of Ndalatando.

On Thursday, at the meeting, the deputy governor for the Technical Area and Infrastructure, Mendonça Luís, presented the concern of the government of Cuanza Norte in relation to the bad execution of the financial quotas assigned to some municipal administrations and the low technical capacity of some contracted contractors, given the constant lack of material in the works, for a long time, low skilled labor and delay in validating invoices.

This week, during the visit to verify social projects in the municipalities of Lucala, Samba Caju and Ambaca, a group of deputies from the Círculo Provincial do Cuanza Norte also complained about the quality of the works of some social projects.

The parliamentarians found, for example, that three schools inaugurated less than two months ago in the municipality of Lucala already have cracks and damage to the roof.

At the meeting, the participants also recommended that the Provincial Finance Delegation be included in Government meetings, whenever necessary, especially in aspects related to the OGE, PIP, PIIM, PIDLCP.

The definition of mechanisms and strategies for attracting potential national or foreign investors, who may also finance the construction of fundamental social infrastructures for the development of the province, is also part of the guidelines.

The meeting also recommended the strengthening of investments in sports infrastructures and the reinforcement of support in material means to boost the massification of the different sports modalities in the region.

The participants also urge that interaction with citizens be intensified, listening to their main concerns and informing the actions planned in their favor, in order to jointly identify the solutions that best fit real local needs, promoting participatory governance.

Participating in the meeting, chaired by the Governor, Pedro Makita, Provincial Government entities, municipal administrators and guests.
