Africa-Press – Angola. A theatrical play entitled “Dialogue with the dead”, which portrays the lives of Angolan heroes, was shown on Sunday in Huambo, in a co-production by the Miragem Teatro group and the Voz D ́Africa Arts Collective.

The one-hour and 20-minute show, with nine actors on stage at the Huambo Provincial Library, aimed to salute, respectively, the 25 and 28 years of existence of the Colectivo de Artes Voz D ́Africa (Huambo) and the Miragem Teatro group, from capital of the country (Luanda).

Liliana Nzinga, a member of the organization and one of the leaders of the Miragem Teatro group, said that the play portrayed a bit of the history of Angolan heroes and warriors from the colonial era to the present day.

The social theme, according to the actress, brought the achievements of national heroes, Queen Nzinga Mbandi, Kimpa Vita, King Mandume, the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, Uanyenga Xito and others, who fought for a free country and good to live.

He referred that the “Dialogue with the dead” aimed to reflect, in a critical way, how the fight carried out by national heroes has been dignified and valued.

As part of the commemorative journeys marking the 25th and 28th anniversary of the two groups’ existence, the play entitled “There’s a dead man in my bed” was also shown on Saturday.

Still in this perspective, 15 theater groups from 11 municipalities in the province of Huambo participated in a training course, with the aim of perfecting their knowledge of scenic representation and improving their acting techniques.

On March 10, 1998, the Colectivo de Artes Voz D ́Africa, with several national and international participations, holds, among other achievements, the title of winner of the National Prize for Cultural and Arts in 2012, in addition to second place in the third edition of the national theater festival, held in 2001, in Cabinda, and the city of Huambo theater prize, as well as homage and recognition.

In turn, the Miragem Teatro group, founded on June 7, 1995, is considered one of the largest in the country, having also won the National Prize for Culture and Arts, in 2009, and the copa Cabana Theater festival, held in Mindelact, Cape Verde, in 2006.
