Africa-Press – Angola. The strategic plan of the Angolan Executive “Angola 2050” contains essential aspects to end the discontinuity of the country’s development, said the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Benedito Daniel.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the public consultation of the plan “Angola 2050- Long-Term Strategy”, the deputy of the Social Renovation Party (PRS), stressed that this is a well-structured plan and that it will give its party formation will make its contribution to enrich it.
“We will work to contribute with our ideas and we know that this strategy should contain the essentials for Angolans so that they can benefit from what is essential for the development of Angola and its populations”, he said.
For the deputy, this is a good occasion for public consultation as it is an opportunity for this document to receive increment, seek consensus and unanimous approval, since it took four years to be prepared.
However, the also president of the PRS, considers, even if there is an alternation in political power, “the national plan should be continued because if each party that takes power ignores the plan, it will delay the country’s growth”.
Hence, deputy Benedito Daniel considers that the main objective is to end the discontinuity of development that the country faces.
On his turn, the member of the Unita parliamentary group, Francisco Viana, considered the initiative of public consultation as positive, as an important step to dialogue with the different actors in the country.
“We are going to study the plan to see the projections of the political framework, the restructuring of the State, Justice, and also the security of citizens’ freedom”, he predicted.
Therefore, the opposition deputy considers the 24 days of consultation to be little, since there are more than 400 pages that define the path for the country’s development.
“This is a large issue and took four years to conceive, but the consultation will take place in three weeks, which means a short time for an exhaustive analysis in order to make a better contribution”, he said.
The deputy maintained that the document makes a projection that the country will have 70 million inhabitants in 2050, which he considers this task to be “gigantic” but the party he represents will make its contribution”, argued the parliamentarian.
Angola 2050 – Long-Term Strategy, launched for public consultation May 19, ends on June 12 of this year, in the province of Zaire, and reserves May 29 for the consultation of the Angolan community in the diaspora.
The aim is to obtain contributions from major public and private actors – collective and individual – with extensive experience and knowledge in the country’s different sectors of activity.
The document, with more than 400 pages, is a long-term strategic tool, as a basis for the elaboration of the National Development Plan (PDN), which presents the strategic development options, based on analysis of scenarios, to national, sectoral and territorial levels.
