Africa-Press – Angola. Eight teams will participate in the provincial karate-do championship, taking place over the weekend, in the municipality of Cassongue, informed, this Tuesday, the president of the local sport association, Fernando Júlio.
He informed that the teams from Benfica, Sporting, Recreativo do Chingo, Recreativo do Seles, Naval Pesca do Porto-Amboim, Desportivo da Quibala, Ara da Gabela and Recreativo da Cela will participate in the tournament.
He indicated that the clubs will participate with five athletes each, including three competitors and two substitutes.
He stressed that all the conditions are created for the event to run smoothly, in a race that qualifies three representatives of Cuanza Sul for the national championship.
Fernando Júlio said technical and logistical issues were guaranteed, adding that accommodation and food for athletes and other team members were the responsibility of the clubs.
Recreativo do Seles is the winner of the 2022 edition.
Karate-do is a fighting modality of Japanese origin, but developed under the influence of Chinese war art, Japanese traditional fights and Japanese warrior disciplines.
