Africa-Press – Angola. The new electronic certification platform adapted by the National Institute to Support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM) was presented Wednesday, in Menongue, Cuando Cubango, as part of the expansion of this service in the country.
The act of presentation was witnessed by more than 100 economic agents from the branches of commerce and services, agriculture and agro-industry, among others.
Among other objectives, the program aims to simplify and decentralize the certification process, as well as allow entrepreneurs to apply online.
Speaking to the press, the deputy governor of Cuando Cubango for the political, social and economic sectors, Helena Chimena, said that the event marks qualitative steps towards the country’s national strategy of decentralisation, modernisation, technological innovation and corporate governance.
The person in charge highlights the importance of the platform, considering companies as the main collaborators of the State in meeting and satisfying the needs of consumers.
“It is necessary to guarantee favorable conditions and all the necessary support for its full operation, in order to meet current requirements”, he underlined.
Helena Chimena recalled that the platform is in line with the process of reducing bureaucracy in Public Administration and simplifying administrative acts in progress in the country, at the same time that it recognizes the private sector as a preponderant vehicle for the economic growth that is intended in Angola and in the province, in particular.
As part of the ongoing reforms and with a view to improving the business environment, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, through INAPEM, has already trained staff in the province who will handle the tools and technological resources of the new platform for certification.
The process is expected to provide a new dynamic for the full operation of companies at provincial level.
On the occasion, the head of the INAPEM Department, Jacob Paulo Cambinda, assured that the platform is already in operation, and the main focus is the expansion of services, with the introduction of some certificate security mechanisms, the inclusion of the QR code , geolocation and institutional chat.
This work is the result of an effort that has been carried out within the framework of the existing protocol between INAPEM and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), signed in February 2022.
The INAPEM technician explained that among the benefits are the reduction of taxes to be paid to the General Tax Administration and others, ensuring that every economic agent assiduous and participating in training activities developed by INAPEM is aware of the great benefits of this important document.
INAPEM in the province of Cuando Cubango has already registered in its database a total of 825 certified and controlled companies, a number that could increase with the new platform.
INAPEM’s new tool, the Platform, has already been presented in the provinces of Luanda, Huila, Huambo, Malanje, Bengo, Zaire, BiĆ©, Namibe, Uige, Moxico, Lunda Sul and Lunda Norte, Kwanza Sul and Kwanza Norte and Cuando Cubango and Cabinda, Cunene and Benguela are currently missing.
