Africa-Press – Angola. Musician Paulo Flores this Friday asked Pope Francis for a blessing for Angola and the peoples of Africa, during a meeting of the Pontiff, with several artists, in the Vatican.
The Angolan musician is part of a range of artists from various areas invited by the Pope to represent Angola and the Portuguese language.
“I asked Pope Francis to bless my rosary on behalf of Angola and the peoples of Africa. The Holy Father blessed and smiled at me”, wrote the artist on his official Facebook page.
The act is part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the meeting of Pope Paul VI with artists, which took place on June 23, 1973.
Paulo Flores is invited by the Holy See taking into account the artistic career and national relevance of the Angolan author.
Paulo Flores is one of the biggest names in popular music in Angola, “ambassador” of semba in the world. He is respected by several generations of Angolan musicians, thanks to the various hits he has collected over more than 30 years of career.
