Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan artist Eduardo Zabila Messo holds his first individual exhibition, with the theme “Afrotopia”, with 11 works, which will be on display until the 11th of this month, at the Zweierstrasse gallery, in Zurich, Switzerland.
According to a press release made available, the works, painted in oil, reflect her figurative style, with incorporated stories and reports that convey the spirituality, beauty, emotions and manifestations of Angolan women.
The creator considers himself a figurative plastic artist, despite his commitment to the abstract, always with a story behind it. “I don’t paint for the sake of painting, in my works I talk a lot about the spiritual interior, the beauty of women, I really like painting female faces and I find myself in an evolutionary phase, with each passing day, I have new ideas to explore in my paintings” , realta.
Eduardo Zabila Messo added that art has a big place in his life. “With her I freed myself and immersed myself in the world of colors, with spatulas and brushes I try to convey on canvas the emotion, humor and energy that inhabit me”, he asserted.
Profile
Eduardo Zabila Messo was born in Luanda, on October 14, 1989. He is self-taught, drawing and painting from an early age, but it was only at the end of 2018 that painting became his main ally.
He says that much of what he knows he learned through intuition, research and with some help from colleagues in the medium course of Economic Sciences, at Colégio Albino, in Samba, in Luanda.
Distinctions
It has already won second place at the Carrousel du Louvre 2022 / France exhibition and recognition by the Zurique Afrodescendents Organization, which works to promote and value African talent in the diaspora.
