Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of the presidency of UNITA, Diamantino Domingos Mussokola, defended Thursday, in Menongue, capital of Cuando Cubango, the need for better planning and economic policy, to overcome the current situation that the country is going through.

The deputy to the National Assembly, who was speaking at the 1st ordinary meeting of the UNITA provincial committee in Cuando Cubango, said that the Executive must promote participatory governance, as well as lower the prices of basic food products, in order to promote good health. being of the Angolans.

For this process, he said the involvement of political parties and other actors in society is important, in promoting a culture of inclusive and encouraging dialogue for resolving social problems.

At the meeting, which took place under the motto “UNITA – proximity, mobilization and growth”, the participants recommended the competent institutions of the State, in order to pay greater attention to the population affected by drought, especially in the municipalities of Mavinga, Rivungo, Dirico, Calai , Cuangar and Nankova.

They also recommended that the local government improve the quality of medical care for the population, as well as adopt mechanisms to combat delinquency, prostitution and child labor.

During the 1st meeting led by the provincial secretary of UNITA in Cuando Cubango, Joaquim Savindo Nakatina, the participants analyzed the current economic and social situation, as well as an assessment of the performance of political formation in the region and a perspective of actions for the next six months of the year.
