Africa-Press – Angola. The first edition of the Provincial Festival “I love my land”, a cultural event focused on carrying out recreational activities in the categories of dance, music, poetry, plastic arts and theater, was launched this Tuesday, in Ndalatando (Cuanza North).

The songs Kizomba, Semba, Ghuero Zouk, Kuduro-Kd, Afro-House, Kizukilu and Folclórica, with their corresponding dance styles, will capitalize on the event program, which will take place from September 22nd to December 9th of the current year .

The event, taking place in the province’s 10 municipalities, is a promotion by the MPLA’s Cuanza Norte Provincial Committee, part of the commemorative days of September 17th – National Hero’s Day.

According to the MPLA information secretary in Cuanza Norte, Mayama Salazar, the festival aims to motivate youth to practice the arts.

Promoting respect for national symbols and bodies of national sovereignty, appreciation of culture, patriotic spirit, as well as citizenship in youth, are, among others, the objectives of the event.

It also aims to discover new talents in communities, occupy youth’s free time, as well as their integration into society, taking into account the multiple communities that exist in the province.

The festival will take place in two phases, with a municipal phase reserved for casting and the municipal finals and another reserved for the provincial finals.

The casting will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of September, the municipal finals on the 27th and 28th of October, while the provincial final, on the 9th of December, in Ndalatando, at the Cuanza Norte International Fair grounds.

The event will award material goods to a single winner of each category in the provincial final, as well as the recording of one or two promotional songs for the winner of this category.

As for the profile of the candidates, they must be over 18 years old and resident in the respective communities where they compete, and the panel of judges will be chosen by the organization at municipal level.
