Africa-Press – Angola. Sixteen vulnerable families, from the municipality of Cuanhama, in Cunene, received, on Tuesday, from the Provincial Office of Family Social Action and Gender Equality, work kits to promote family income.

The kits include sewing machines, metalwork and their respective components, as well as a basic food basket to minimize food shortages.

On the occasion, the director of Social Action in Cunene, Georgina Braga, said that they delivered the means to homes for families to do small businesses, as part of the program to protect vulnerable groups.

The person responsible explained that the objective of this support is to empower these vulnerable families, to create the minimum conditions for their self-sustenance.

“There are so many needs, but as the kits arrive, distribution will cover other vulnerable people, so they have the same opportunity and strength to work”, he said.

He made it known that two 17-year-old twin brothers who had decreased hearing capacity since they were two years old also benefited from hearing aids.
