Angola has been participating, since this Thursday, in the city of Cairo, Egypt, in the 12th Pan-African Regional Congress of Military Doctors which is addressing, in scientific sessions, among other topics, action in assistance scenarios by specialties and the environmental, preventive and veterinary health management.

According to a press release from the Embassy of Angola in Egypt, the meeting, lasting three days, will also offer training for the treatment of field trauma, through sharing experiences and expectations, during lectures, discussions and seminars, in an organization of the International Committee of Military Medicine.

Military doctors, he says. they will share experiences on the lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic, and the modalities and services in Tertiary Military Hospitals, disaster management, trauma and field surgery.

Trauma and injuries from mine explosions, handling burns – current uses and perspectives -, training against biothreats – The Tunisian Task Force against Biothreats and Decontamination Units, effects of radiation incidents on health, acute exposure to microwaves, will be addressed at the meeting.

It clarifies that the program also reserves pharmaceutical scientific research, development of military educational nursing facilities, health and epidemiology, immunizations and chemoprophylaxis for the prevention of infectious diseases.

Also under analysis will be the impact of diarrheal diseases in military installations, development of a lateral flow immunochromatographic test for rapid detection of “Clostridium perfringens” α Toxins and clinical samples, food security, strengthening the provision of services for people with disabilities, cooperation civil-military and medical evacuation of civilians.

The forum will also take into account the Initiative of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to combat the causes of blindness, the qualities to work as a UN Peacekeeping Force, the participation of women in peacekeeping forces and a lecture on the strategy to face Covid-19 – changes in the incidence of infectious diseases in China during the aforementioned pandemic and its imported variants.
