Africa-Press – Angola. Mosart Carpintaria, part of the Andaimes de Carvalho group, has employed 30 employees in the last two years with financing of 690 million 838 thousand 381 kwanzas, from Notice 10 of the National Bank of Angola (BNA) for the acquisition of equipment.

On Friday, in Lubango, the financial director of the Andaimes de Carvalho group, Óscar Silva, who was speaking at the end of a visit by the National Directorate for Economy and Business Development of the supervisory ministry, said that at least 95 percent of the 30 new workers are national and have already trained at the company, out of a total of more than 70 who work at the factory.

He stated that the amount had already been executed at 70 percent in physical and financial terms, a line guaranteed by the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC), which allowed production to increase by around 50 percent, a turnover that exceeded 700 million to close to 1.3 billion kwanzas/year.

He informed that with the financing received in October 2021, whose grace period ended in August 2022, more modern and automated equipment was acquired, as well as the factory’s vacuum system was improved to avoid dust.

He regretted that the raw material is still purchased in Portugal, Namibia, South Africa and England, as Angola still does not produce enough, which ends up making the final product more expensive, because there are customs fees, fees, storage in the port of disembarkation, among other costs, which would be avoided if they had local material.

“Importing raw materials, in addition to having a high cost, takes time to arrive, which forces the company to have greater purchasing capacity in its working capital to reinforce stock”, he said.

He reinforced that the supply contracts made are with national and international customers, the domestic market does not yet have factories for certain components it uses, such as hardware, high-performance paints, among other materials.

Among the constraints, he pointed out the lack of electricity from the public network, which leads them to have additional expenses in terms of diesel, an increased cost in the manufacture of parts and in terms of transport, due to the degraded state of some roads, the vehicles require maintenance. more frequently.

“We expect more initiatives from government entities to support the national industry. We produce for the private market, kitchens, doors, wardrobes, bathroom furniture and construction companies look for our product, in terms of carpentry”, he continued.

The national director for Economy and Business Development of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Manuel Quilende highlighted that the complaints are cyclical, as energy is a deficit at country level, but there are cases of provinces that have improved this factor.

“These are specific complaints, which will be included in our internal report and will then be discussed with other cross-cutting ministerial departments to find a solution”, he stressed.

The visit served to assess the impact of the project on the province’s real economy.
