Starting this week, the Executive will launch the Vehicle Title, a document that unifies the Registration Book and the Car Ownership Title, within the framework of the State Reform, with a view to simplifying administrative processes, reducing bureaucracy, providing an experience more efficient for citizens.
The implementation of the Vehicle Title, which is included in the Simplifica 1.0 Project, represents a significant milestone in efforts to modernize Public Services, through which the Government seeks more practical, agile and accessible solutions for all, in order to guarantee the registration of property.
According to the document, the implementation of the new measure will be carried out according to the execution schedule to be published, equally, in the coming days.
The Vehicle Title is the unification of the Registration Book and the Vehicle Ownership Title, and arises from the need to speed up the identification of motor vehicles throughout the country, providing greater quality to the Ownership Registration process.
The Executive’s initiative results from the implementation of the Simplifica 1.0 Project, a program designed within the framework of the State Reform, which essentially aims to reduce the difficulties and bureaucratic excesses that citizens face in acquiring the Booklet and Property Registration.
The new document constitutes a single vehicle identification certificate that allows the user to handle two documents in one, as it resulted from the unification of the Booklet, which brought together the physical characteristics of the vehicle, the Property Title, with the owner’s identification.
In this way, it represents an additional innovation, which offers objective conditions for a single inspection action, thus bringing together the services of the National Police and the General Tax Administration (AGT), with the National Police being responsible for issuing the document.
The Executive, with the initiative, creates the conditions that will guarantee interoperability between the services of the Ministries of the Interior and Justice and Human Rights.
In addition to the modernization of Public Services, the new measure also covers the security component, due to the ease of vehicle identification, also providing economic and financial advantages.
The Vehicle Title identifies the physical characteristics of the car and the essential elements of identification of the owner.
For its implementation, the Car Registry and the Vehicle Ownership Registration Title were unified, simplifying the process of identifying the motor vehicle and the Ownership Register.
The new document will also have an economic impact and will facilitate Property Registration, which, in turn, is useful for presenting guarantees to commercial banks and other similar services.
