Africa-Press – Angola. The Political Personality of the Year award was officially launched this Friday in Luanda, with a view to promoting and recognizing the performance of public servants at national level.
Presented at a press conference by its spokesperson, Francisco Matete, the award is a social initiative, from the agency “Skylight Comunicação e Eventos”, which includes five general categories and one special, namely provincial governor, municipal administrator, deputy, minister, revelation politician and political personality of the year.
The selection criteria are based, to a certain extent, on the evaluation of the performance of the work carried out in representation of the interests of the populations, as well as on the trajectory and reputation of the competitor, and the voting process must follow two distinct stages.
In the first phase, the “top 5” will be selected by the jury members, with one competitor in each category, and in the second phase, voting is open to the public, online, through the website (www.personalidadepolitica.ao) and on the networks .
The award consists of the delivery of trophies and certificates, so cash prizes are prohibited.
The jury is made up, in addition to experts from the organization, by professionals from different areas who follow the activities inherent to the categories of competitors, such as members of the media, social organizations, political analysts, economists and others.
The selection and voting process for this first edition will take place from October 20th to November 20th, while the awards gala is scheduled for December 4th.
According to the award’s spokesperson, the initiative also aims to encourage society to participate in political life, actively monitoring and analyzing the individual performance of its representatives.
