Africa-Press – Angola. Maria Albertina dos Santos Moura is the new provincial secretary of the OMA in the province of Bié, elected, with 370 votes in favor, seven against and one null, corresponding to 97 percent of valid votes.
Maria Albertina dos Santos Moura replaces Emília da Conceição Pandjimba, who currently holds the position of deputy to the National Assembly, as a result of the MPLA’s victory in the general elections on August 24, 2022.
The election, which had a single list, took place during the first extraordinary provincial assembly, with the presence of 378 delegates from the nine municipalities of the province of Bié, which took place under the motto “Angolan Woman – participation, inclusion and development”.
The event was attended by the secretary of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee for organization and integration into MPLA society, Gonçalves Muandumba, MPLA’s first municipal secretaries, members of the party, municipal committees and guests.
Maria dos Santos Moura reiterated, however, that she would continue to work to boost the organization’s basic structures, prioritizing dialogue, in order to provide answers to the party’s challenges.
He also promised to work, during his mandate, with all strata of society in actions aimed at combating illiteracy, domestic violence, evasion of fatherhood, sexual violence against minors, alcoholism, among others.
The first secretary of the MPLA in Bié, Pereira Alfredo, asked for more support from the new secretary, aiming to enhance the party’s political actions, to continue overcoming the challenges.
Meanwhile, at the end of the event, Manuel Valéria Gaspar, coordinator of the OMA monitoring group for the province of Bié, guaranteed full support to carry out the tasks emanating from above.
