Africa-Press – Angola. The National Space Management Office (GGPEN) in partnership with ENDIAMA presented, on Friday, in Luanda, the “Tech Mineiro” tool, a program that aims to improve services in the mining sector.
“Tech Mineiro” is a tailor-made tool for the company that uses artificial intelligence so that in a simplified and efficient way it meets the user’s needs in order to bring the best solutions, as well as helping to combat mining.
Speaking to the press, the president of the Board of Directors of Endiama, José Ganga Júnior, said that the tool will be an added value to promote production in the mining sector, allowing the high costs of subcontracting services abroad to be reduced.
He added that, currently, the country has 16 companies linked to diamond production and around 41 projects in prospection.
“Right now we are able to work with a tool created in the country with payment in the national currency and with immediate availability.”
In addition to reducing financial expenses, he explained, Tech Minas will also allow there to be no massive displacement of personnel and machines.
José Júnior also made it known that ENDIAMA is already using the services available from Tech Minas, with the practical case of Samacanda and Luachimo, with an introspection area 100 percent owned by ENDIAMA.
Taking into account the potential that the country has, he said, the “objective is to make the diamond sector increasingly stronger, with the emergence of this tool the degree of satisfaction is total, as it is an effective program to boost the economy”.
ENDIAMA’s PCA made it known that 2023 has been a challenging year for the sector, due to the fact that India, a market that receives more than 90 percent of the country’s production, is closed until December.
“We are not producing as we wanted, but we have to be resilient, so, despite everything, the sector remains motivated,” he said.
Added value
In turn, the deputy director for the Technical and Science area of the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN), Vangiliya Pereira, explained that Tech Minas was designed by the institution’s national staff in collaboration and international certification, so that any company of the diamond sector can work.
The person in charge informed that GGPEN has a study section available to assist interested parties and provide instructions on how to use the tool in a personalized way and create working conditions in accordance with company policy.
