Africa-Press – Angola. The municipality of Cacuaco indicated (Tuesday), as priorities for the Participatory Budget (OP) for the 2024 financial year, health, education, energy and water, basic sanitation, social assistance and public safety.
Among the priorities are also agriculture, livestock and fishing, leisure, leisure time, culture, sport, entertainment, mobility, transport and the improvement of primary and secondary roads.
These needs were advanced at the Municipal Society Consultation Forum, held in the municipality of Cacucao, in Luanda, in promotion of the Associação Plataforma de Orientação para o Desenvolvimento (APODES), one of the organizations to which the Government delegated powers to collect opinions on the Budget Participatory (OP) from 2024.
The meeting, held in partnership with the Ministry of Territorial Administration, aimed to guarantee the effective participation of civil society and citizens in general, through their opinions, in solving the problems of the districts.
The deputy administrator for infrastructure of Cacuaco, Elias Culipanga, considered the participation of young people (citizens) to be essential in the actions to be developed. in the municipality
According to the person responsible, the administration has developed activities with the participation of citizens. “Committees of residents and elders make up the municipality’s Social Consultation and Consultation Council,” he said.
In turn, the provincial delegate of APODES Luanda, João Panga Panga, stated that the concerns require an immediate response from the Executive, as citizens must, in some way, identify the problems and bring solutions, so that they can be included in the next financial year 2024.
Januário Márcia, coordinator of the Sequele Urban District, highlights that there are several concerns, because despite the evolution of the municipality, there are deficiencies, such as water that does not reach the Maye-Meye taps.
In terms of education, he added that the number of schools does not meet demand, highlighting the need, for example, for special education schools, because “there are a lot of people out of education”.
As for health, he emphasized, Cacuaco is one of the privileged municipalities, but given the number of residents, improvements in this sector are needed.
The Sequele District has 16 neighborhoods, some of which lack energy, water, schools and hospitals.
Meanwhile, for Armando Fula, from the Urban District of Mulenvos de Baixo, there is an urgent need to build another media library, implement social interaction programs with youth, as well as professional training centers and improve primary and secondary roads.
Cacuaco, with four urban districts (Mulenvos de Baixo, Sequele, Kikolo, Cacuaco Sede) and the commune of Funda, has more than one million inhabitants (1,070,147) inhabitants.
