Africa-Press – Angola. Tuquia wants to increase its investment in Angola in the textile, agricultural and energy sectors, said this Monday the ambassador of that European country, Uduk Ericf.

Speaking to the press after an audience granted by the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, the diplomat said that during the meeting they discussed bilateral cooperation in the most varied areas.

Uduk Ericf also said that it is planned to send 70 scholarship students this year, who will be trained in various areas at the expense of the Turkish government, and in the short term 17 students will travel

The diplomat said that the meeting also served to thank the Angolan government for its statements, condemning the terrorist attack on the Turkish parliament.

Regarding the holding of the 147th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IUP), Uduk Ericf said that his country will be represented with a large parliamentary delegation, and the creation of a parliamentary friendship group between Angola and Turkey is still in the works.

“We think that the relationship between the two countries, especially between deputies, is very important”, he highlighted.

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Turkey date back to 1980 and are supported by cooperation agreements in the sectors of Fisheries, Education, Science and Technology, Oil and Gas, Industry and Agriculture.
