Africa-Press – Angola. One thousand and eighty occasional inspectors are working with the Inspection Services of the Provincial Government of Luanda, monitoring inspection actions, Governor Manuel Homem announced Thursday.

Speaking to the press at the end of a hearing with the Angolan ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, the governor of Luanda highlighted that conditions are being created to regularize the situation of occasional inspectors who, currently, constitute an important piece in the coordination of inspection and monitoring of actions developed at the level of municipalities in the country’s capital.

Manuel Homem said that they are articulating, with the central power bodies, a solution that allows these employees to be included or a link that supports their relationship with municipal administrations.

Regarding the hearing, he explained that it served to address concerns presented to the Ombudsman’s Office by citizens, linked to land rights, improvement of secondary and tertiary roads, vandalization of property, improvement of public lighting, among others.

In turn, the Ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, said she was available to support the Provincial Government of Luanda, in solving the most pressing problems that plague the capital city.

He highlighted that they will help raise awareness among the competent authorities, to resolve some issues raised by citizens, giving as an example basic sanitation and the integration of occasional inspectors.

He said he had asked the governor for greater disclosure of the State’s reserves and existing programs at central and local level, to avoid citizens’ desire to occupy land.
