Africa-Press – Angola. The development of agribusiness and the increase in agricultural production in Angola depends, fundamentally, on the interest and commitment of each citizen, defended experts and national agricultural entrepreneurs.

To this end, they advocated that people should be educated on the correct management of projects in the agricultural sector.

For Brazilian agricultural entrepreneur Vera Neia, it is necessary to encourage the population to take greater interest in national production, with the creation of concrete public policies to support investors.

“The existing arable land potential in Angola shows that the country has a vast field of opportunities to be explored, and it is necessary to train national staff to improve the exploitation of this natural wealth”, considered the businesswoman, who spoke at the end of the 2nd edition of the Angolan Agribusiness Forum, held on Saturday, in Luanda.

With the availability of these natural resources, he said, the agricultural sector constitutes a window of opportunities for each citizen to create their business in a sustainable way in the long term, in addition to significantly reducing the import of food into the country. .

This position was corroborated by businesswoman Paula Bartolomeu, highlighting that, currently, people have more opportunities to acquire knowledge about agribusiness, through a cell phone or new technologies, for example.

Along with the technical training of farmers, he highlighted the need to increasingly mechanize the agricultural sector, as it is one of the decisive factors for large-scale production.

According to the farmer, cultivating the land manually is “very painful and time-consuming”, unlike the use of machines, such as tractors, harrows, seeders, plows, among other equipment that makes production faster and more extensive.

Furthermore, the owner of the “Maravilhosa” farm, which focuses on large-scale bread banana production, in the province of Cuanza Norte, considered it necessary to have greater flexibility in the availability of financing to support production costs, as well as the creation of more tax incentives.

Natural and environmental resources engineer Lília Ticiana said she believes in the possibility of increasingly increasing agro-industrial production in the country, as long as there is willpower on the part of each citizen, who has immense potential available to be explored.

For economist Filomena Oliveira, in the agribusiness process, it is necessary for primary schools to mandatorily teach content on project management aimed at various segments of the country’s socioeconomic life, with emphasis on the productive sector, so that this knowledge is transmitted from a young age.

This process, he added, must be accompanied by technical-professional training, mainly for the engineering and industrial sectors, with a view to providing solutions to the numerous problems that the Angolan agricultural and livestock sector still faces.

He also defended the need for the General State Budget (OGE) to be directed, essentially, to the three sectors of the country’s economy, namely primary, secondary and tertiary, with a view to allocating concrete funds to enhance these areas in an integrated manner, with projects that positively impact the lives of the population.

With this, the general director of the Institute of Industrial Development and Technological Innovation of Angola (IDIIA) pointed out that it will be possible to avoid the dispersion of financial resources from the OGE and allow the emergence of sustainable integrated projects, avoiding the poor quality of public expenditure.

During the forum, promoted by the Angolan company Zambeca International Business, participants debated topics such as “The industrialization of agribusiness in Angola”, “The power of self-responsibility in agribusiness”, “Creativity and innovation for the industrialization of agribusiness” , “Rural community work to favor Angolan agribusiness”, among others.

The respective topics were discussed by different national and foreign agricultural experts and businesspeople, such as economist Filomena Oliveira, businesswoman Paula Bartolomeu, master coach Vera Neia and marketing and political strategy expert Edgar Leandro.
