The top also distinguished Carlos Lamartine with a critics’ prize, having been awarded a diploma and check worth one million and 500 thousand kwanzas.

The winner thanked everyone who voted for her, as this was the only way to reach first place.

He said he will invest in his career by creating constructive themes and believing in himself more.

Living in the 5 de Abril neighborhood, she began her career in 2019, in the Melv Voice competition, an initiative by Proart Namibe.

The young student, after convincing the organization, started to be invited to other activities.

In 2019, he competed for the provincial phase of Variante, but was not successful and repeated in 2021.

A year later, she won, at local level, the “Cantar Agostinho Neto” Trova Competition and was considered the Newest Voice in the national edition and, this year, with “Mãe África”, the only female voice in the Top of the Most Wanted wins the trophy bigger.

History

The first edition of Top dos Mais Queridos took place in 1982 when members of the program “Para Jovem” held a competition to find out which individual artists and groups were most appreciated by the listening public of Rádio Nacional. This is how Top dos Mais Queridos was born. Most Dear.

The initiative by João Chagas, Paulo Araújo and Sérgio Carvalho, a young trio who at the time were concerned with the valorization of national music, had the trust of the duo Guilherme Mogas and Maria Luisa Fançony, respectively general director and program director. The event got into rhythm and fit in with the 5th of October festivities, handing out the prize to the winners in an activity in the RNA auditorium.

With the success of the event, the following year the management called Gilberto Júnior to carry out the Top dos Mais Queridos, a mission that he embraced in the following five editions. Proletário is recognized in this edition as the Most Wanted individual singer and Os Jovens do Prenda won again in the musical group category. The following year Os Kiezos dethroned Jovens do Prenda and Pedrito was once again the Most Wanted.

In 1985 Os Kiezos won twice in the group category. It was that same year that José Kafala won with a strong mobilization of the military. 1985 becomes the last year that the contest was contested in two categories.

The following year, Pedrito won the Top of the Most Wanted for the third time, in the closest competition, dethroning Carlos Baptista, on a memorable night at Cidadela Desportiva.

Mamborró made the transition from children’s song star to adult singer and put his name in the winners’ gallery. Jacinto Tchipa appears and conquers the hearts and feelings of Angolans, he was the singer in uniform, being transformed into a youth icon. Tchipa makes history by winning two consecutive editions, 1987 and 1988, both galas held outside Luanda, respectively in the cities of Lubango and Benguela.

Representatives from the remaining provinces also participated in these latest editions and this is how in 1990 Os Pacificos da Huíla were consecrated as the Most Wanted and in the following year, after representing Kuando Kubango, Moniz de Almeida was consecrated in Huambo.

We are in the phase of democratic opening, the Bicesse Accords brought some hope, with the end of the civil war, but the violent post-electoral conflict arose and that is how in 1992 the Top of the Most Wanted was suspended. The suspension would last nine years.

In 2001 the Top dos Mais Queridos returned, with a mass activity held in Benguela, where, coming from the Land of Jacaré Bangão, the then unknown Jovem Leão is the crowned winner. Euclides da Lomba, recently arrived from Cuba, bets heavily on Kizomba, with romanticism as a differentiator and also put his name in the winners’ gallery.

Patrícia Faria is committed to a solo career, after leaving Gingas do Maculusso. With the good reception of “Eme Kya” she was the first woman to win the Top of the Most Wanted, in an edition held in Cabinda. Sabino Henda, with a history of being a bogeyman in several musical competitions, enchants Angolans and convinces voters in 2004 with “Embryo”.

Next comes a “kadiavu” from Sambila, Bernardo Jorge “Bangão”, who carefully revealed himself with hits such as “Dioguito”, “Fofucho” and others where Luanda’s stories were highlighted. Next, Miguel Zau, Mig, launched with “Maka Mami” and no one stopped him in his triumphant rise to the Top of the Most Wanted in 2006.

In the following three editions, a new generation of artists emerged and the people found themselves revealed in the songs of Matias Damásio, Maya Cool, Yuri da Cunha and Yola Semedo. In 2011, after a long time on the market and with popular acceptance, Paulo Flores was the most voted on the Top of the Most Wanted. The following year there was no contest, with the Top dedicated to the winners of previous editions.

Matias Damásio regained the trophy in 2013 and, after many years among the top ten classified, Ary became the artistic reference of the year, in an edition held in Malanje, with the theme “Paga que Paga”. Two years later, as a result of a partnership with Baló Januário, with “Papá Fugiu” Ary once again gains the public’s sympathy and wins the Top of the Most Wanted.

The last three editions with the winners being elected included Kiaku Kiadaff, Yanick Afroman and the Picantes. These editions brought an indicator of regional voting and the power of campaigns on digital platforms. In 2018, Kiaku Kiadaff brought the Kizomba wave with the strength of the North and the following year, appealing to ethnic-cultural pride, Yanick Afroman raised the Rap flag in “Eu sou Bakongo”.

The Picantes do Huambo, the most beloved of 2021, are considered the most unlikely winners of the Top dos Most Cherished. The feat came after local names known outside the province’s limits, such as Bessa Teixeira and Justino Handanga, in previous editions were among the ten best classified, but never reached the podium despite the recognition.

In 2022, the festival honored the centenary of the nation’s founder, António Agostinho Neto.
