Africa-Press – Angola. The Social Renewal Party (PRS) in Huíla mourned Monday, in Lubango, the death of its provincial secretary, Júlia Caquene Adriano, victim of illness, in Luanda, whose funeral has the support of the provincial government.
According to the deputy secretary of the PRS Ethics Department in Huíla, Agrione Caunga, the secretary had been ill for some time, but in the first fortnight of August of the current year she suffered a relapse, during the opening of the Fair of Municipalities and Cities of Angola.
She stated that after the incident, she was treated by one of the city’s health units and days later evacuated to Luanda, where she died last Thursday.
He said that the body of the only woman to lead a political party in Huíla to date is expected to arrive between Tuesday and Wednesday this week, in the city of Lubango where she will be buried.
He said that the Party is preparing the obsequies and the governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, showed his willingness to provide support, both with space for the ceremony and with transport.
Júlia Caquene was secretary of the PRS in Huíla since 2001 and replaced Dumba Hebo.
