Africa-Press – Angola. The participatory citizenship model, implemented more than five years ago by the government, has facilitated the identification of several problems that afflict communities in the province of Namibe, said governor Archer Mangueira on Tuesday.

The government official met with the commission of Camucuio residents, as part of his “citizenship day” program, dedicated to listening to the problems that communities face.

According to Archer Mangueira, this very representative model gives priority to interlocutors to point out the most pressing problems and contribute to the search for solutions.

During the meeting, members of the residents’ committee presented several issues related to the supply of electricity, supply of drinking water, improvement of the roads that connect the municipal headquarters with the communes and the opening of chimpacas.

In response, Archer Mangueira highlighted that some projects are central in scope, but that they will be carried out as soon as there is financial availability for the purpose, giving the municipality’s town as an example.

Regarding the supply of electricity, the government official promised to work to find an immediate solution.

On this two-day trip to the municipality of Camucuio, the government official visited the entrepreneurship centers and kiosks, built within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Local Development and Combating Poverty, the works of the municipal residential complex, included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities ( PIIM) and delivered agricultural means.

The municipality of Camucuio is 234 kilometers from the province’s headquarters and has more than sixty thousand inhabitants, the majority of whom are peasants and cattle breeders.
