Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), congratulated, this Monday, all military personnel and civilian workers, on the 32nd anniversary of the military institution.
In a message, the Head of State warmly congratulates the general officers, admirals, superiors, captains and subalterns, sergeants and enlisted men, as well as the civilian workers who, on the front line and in the rear, ensure the uncompromising defense of independence and national sovereignty and the integrity of the country’s soil, creating the conditions of security and stability necessary for the country’s development and social progress
“In the context of peace, the Armed Forces have gained greater prestige due to their engagement in social tasks and others of public interest, such as, for example, their participation in community activities and the preservation of the environment, contributing to the improvement of conditions of the populations”, says the letter.
It ensures that the Angolan Executive, in accordance with budgetary capabilities and in the interest of national defense, will continue to implement policies that make the FAA increasingly better served from the point of view of quartering infrastructure, weapons, technical and material resources and the improvement of working conditions and the development of employees, within the scope of the ongoing restructuring, resizing and modernization process.
He reiterates his tribute “to all those who lost their lives in carrying out their noble mission of defending their homeland, certain that they will continue to be remembered on every occasion in the annals of Angola’s history”.
The Commander-in-Chief addresses “the young continuers of the gigantic work begun by the former fighters and veterans of the country and by all those who were involved in the tough battles for national independence, self-determination and national stability”.
João Lourenço hopes that the military will remain firm in carrying out the arduous and honorable mission of serving the country, demonstrating values that highlight unshakable patriotism, because, he emphasizes, “the country does not beg its children, it orders it!”.
