Africa-Press – Angola. The Provincial Forum for Public Consultation of Opinions for the Resolution of Children’s Problems recommended that municipal administrations strengthen family skills in the education of children, through the training of activists and social mobilizers in matters of sexual violence.
The recommendation aims to comply with some requirements set out in the Sexual Violence Prevention Plan (PPCVS), which provides for protecting children from all acts of violence.
The Forum, on the other hand, recommended the National Children’s Institute (INAC), to work in collaboration with the Provincial Delegation of Justice and Human Rights and other similar bodies, in the elaboration of specific measures for the criminal liability of perpetrators of sexual violence against children.
The inclusion of projects for the construction of Children’s Centers in municipalities, within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), aiming to welcome and integrate street children to promote their well-being and socio-professional inclusion, is also included in the recommendations .
The meeting recommended, on the other hand, to the Municipal Administration of Malanje, to activate and promote the operation of the Integrated Child Support Center (CIAC), located in the Carreira de Tiro neighborhood;
Meanwhile, the director of the Provincial Office of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, Angelina Camueje specified that the issues discussed at the meeting will serve as a basis for the protection and safeguarding of children’s well-being, towards combating all social phenomena that affect minors.
She highlighted that the Executive is concerned with the problems that afflict this fringe of society, which is why she advises the search for concrete solutions for them, on the part of all social actors.
In turn, the head of INAC Provincial Services, Sara Domingos, made it known that the institution currently controls 250 children on and off the street, as well as in vulnerable situations.
The public consultation held, aimed to address the National Plans for the Containment and Resocialization of Homeless Children and the Prevention and Combat of Sexual Violence against Children.
