Lasting five days, the 45 works, by three Angolan artists, namely “Mestre Pedro”, with the theme of oil painting on canvas, “Mestre Anacleto” with various crafts and “Master Yaba”, with basket making items coming from the Mussulo Commune, aim to expand cultural tourism.
The painting works, which display the daily life of Angolans, the landscapes and historical points, cost between ten and ninety thousand kwanzas.
While the handcrafted pieces range between two and 300 thousand kwanzas, we portray the marimba musical instrument, hunters, baobab trees, the Thinker, symbol of national culture, a map of Africa and Queen Njinga Mbande.
The Municipal Director of Culture, John Belas, highlighted that the event aims to expand and promote entrepreneurship among art makers in the municipality. “It is necessary to combine art with cultural tourism and also awaken the arts in people”, he concluded.
