Africa-Press – Angola. The former players of the National Senior Women’s Handball Team, Palmira Barbosa and Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, were honored, on Saturday night, in Luanda, by the African Confederation of the sport.
The incident occurred after Angola qualified for the Paris’ 2024 Olympic Games, with a victory over Cameroon, 27-21, in the third and final round of the Pre-Olympic tournament, played at the Kilamba Multiúsos pavilion.
The two former African champions, for the national team and for Petro de Luanda, were each honored with salutes from the CAHB, for their contribution to the sport at national and international level.
The act of recognition is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the continental institution.
Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, former Minister of Youth and Sports, from 2017 to 2022, was replaced in office in 2022, precisely by Palmira Barbosa, until now leader of the department.
