Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Board of Directors of the Port of Luanda, Alberto Bengue, was elected consultant to the Association of Portuguese Language Ports (APLOP), with a view to contributing with his experience in achieving the objectives of this organization.
According to a press release sent, the election of the Angolan manager was made unanimously by APLOP members, during the general assembly of this organization, held within the scope of the XIV Congress of Portuguese Language Ports, which takes place from the 16th to the 18th this month, in Brasília (Brazil).
Quoted in the note, the PCA considered his election as a great achievement and enormous prestige for the collective of collaborators at the Port of Luanda.
On the occasion, consultants Ireneu Camacho, president of the Board of Directors of the Empresa Nacional Administração dos Portos de Cabo Verde (ENAPOR) and Ted Lago, manager of the Empresa Maranhense de Administração Portuária – manager of the Port of Itaqui (Brazil) were also elected. .
With this election, the respective consultants have the challenge of proposing significant contributions to the APLOP management to achieve its mission, which involves promoting cooperation and development between Portuguese-speaking Ports.
With this, members expect the first consultants in the organization’s history to have a positive impact on APLOP’s collective efforts to drive progress, sustainability and innovation within the port industry.
Under the motto “Logistics corridors, energy transition, sustainability and innovation”, the XIV APLOP Congress was seen as a platform in which sector leaders and interested parties debated and exchanged ideas on crucial topics determining the future of port operations.
According to the note, the event also served to promote collaboration, innovation and sustainable practices within the Portuguese-speaking port community.
