Africa-Press – Angola. The 46th edition of the National Football Championship “Girabola2023-24” starts on the 28th of this month, after two successive postponements, according to a communication released this Thursday by the Angolan Football Federation.

Initially scheduled for the 28th or 29th of September, the biggest football competition in the country was rescheduled for the 13th of October, now having a new date, stipulated by the Technical Council of the governing body.

The document, considers the draw for the competition held on August 31st to be valid, with the “classic” 1.o de Agosto-Petro de Luanda as the highlight game, to be played at the Coqueiros stadium.

The Escolinha Issac de Benguela group will be left out of the championship, as they have not presented proof of financial capacity.

The champion title is held by Petro de Luanda.
