MPLA reiterates values of national unit

Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, reiterated, this Saturday, the party’s commitment to the values of national unity, based on the Constitution of the Republic and popular sovereignty.

The party leader, who spoke at the end of a march in support of the leadership of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, recalled that Angola is a democratic state governed by the rule of law.

It is, according to Lotti Nolika, a principle based on the Constitution and the law, in which popular sovereignty, the principle of separation of powers and interdependence of functions are the guarantee of national unity, pluralism of expression and political organization of any social stratum.

He clarified that in a democratic State governed by the rule of law, all acts must comply with the law, under penalty of being annulled.

Therefore, he appealed to leaders, cadres, activists and the population, in general, to continue to ensure and spread respect for the Singular Body of State Sovereignty, the President of the Republic and Holder of Executive Power, elected by the people in the elections on August 24, 2022.

He said that the MPLA is a modern party that is renewed every day, faced with the challenges that the contexts impose, hence the need for members to remain firm and united around the flag of the party leader and President of the Republic.

He said that the militant mass must always look to the preservation of peace, democracy and national reconciliation, with a focus on building a good country to live in.

He said that the Executive will continue with measures aimed at accelerating the national economy and harmonious development.

The march in support of President João Lourenço, which covered several arteries in the city of Huambo, brought together MPLA activists, friends and supporters.
