Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Brazil are working on the preparation of a cooperation agreement in the technical, academic, scientific and cultural fields between the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) and the Angolan Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the implementation of which is expected to take place during the administration of President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva.

To this end, a delegation of experts from UNESP arrived in Luanda this Sunday morning, led by the Brazilian anthropologist and professor, Dagoberto Fonseca, who, for five days, will work with staff from the National Archives and the Institute of Tourist Promotion of Angola.

Speaking at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Dagoberto Fonseca said that the teams will dedicate themselves, among other aspects, to promoting memory tourism and research based on transatlantic cruises between the two countries.

“During our visit, we will conclude the Cooperation Agreement between UNESP (Brazil) and Angolan institutions (National Archive and Institute of Tourist Promotion), in order to digitize all transatlantic trafficking documents and work on promoting memory tourism and investigation”, he revealed.

Dagoberto Fonseca is the scientific coordinator of the UNESP Black Center for Research and Extension (NUPE) and author of the Program “Recognize, Repair, Reconnect to Follow: memory and history of ours – Atlantic world and on dry land”, which involves several ministries in Brazil and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in Angola.

Among his works, several books of children’s literature, poems, scientific works and scattered articles, published in Brazil and in countries such as Angola, Mozambique, France, Portugal and Mexico, stand out, where he develops, as a writer, themes linked to “Negritude ” and the anti-racist fight.

During his stay in Luanda, Dagoberto Fonseca will present three works of his own and take the opportunity to strengthen ties with Angolan academics and writers.

Among his best-known works, the works “A Vovó Naná vai à Escola”, “Public policies and affirmative actions”, “Do you know that one?”, “As Mentiras do Oeste”, “Black woman and ancestry” and “Racisms”, these last three from the Africa Presente Collection.

“Returning to my second homeland means ensuring that unity between our countries is always renewed, not by the will of our politicians, but by our people who have deep roots here and who germinated in Brazil. We have to repair the past in favor of a new future for two brotherly countries”, concluded the academic.
