Africa-Press – Angola. Academic Ovídio Pahula highlighted, this Saturday, in the province of Cunene, the importance of scientific research for the contribution of the national scientific heritage to solving problems.
Ovídio Pahula was speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the book entitled “Financial Decentralization, Perspectives for Angola”, having referred to the importance of research in solving social, political and economic problems.
In his opinion, good scientific research practices, based on ethics, constitute ways of ensuring the truth, usefulness and relevance of knowledge.
The academic appealed to young people about the need to know and better master subjects linked to decentralization and deconcentration.
As for the book, he said it was a work transversal to the entire population, with an in-depth and detailed approach to decentralization, which aims to contribute to the holding of local elections in the country.
With 457 pages, the work is divided into two parts and contains seven chapters, covering, among others, topics such as “Notion, concept, forms of decentralization and similar figures”, “Financial decentralization”, “Decentralization in Angola, Portugal, Mozambique and Cape Green”.
It also addresses topics on the colonial and independence periods, characterization of the current situation and prospects for the evolution of financial decentralization in Angola.
The book is expected to be launched in Luanda on the 1st of November, and on the 15th of December in Lisbon, Portugal.
Member of the Union of Angolan Writers, Ovídio Pahula is the author of the works “Firmezas da Vida”, released in 1999, and “No Fundo da Pedra Há Um Tchingono”, in 2006.
