Africa-Press – Angola. The mixed teams of Huambo and Benguela (reigning champions) will compete, on Friday, in the final of the 2nd edition of the National Senior Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Championship, which will take place at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem pavilion.
To reach the final of the competition, whose initial phase was contested by eight teams, Misto do Huambo beat their counterpart Bié, by 24-13, in the semi-finals, while Benguela defeated INEFOP de Viana, 22- 16.
Although both teams have the same objective of becoming champions, each has a different mission to counter the opponent’s favoritism.
Misto do Huambo, which has an advantage in the direct confrontation, of a victory, in the regular phase of group A, has the difficult task of dethroning the champion, while for the “Benguelenses”, it carries the responsibility of defending and revalidating the title.
Before the final, Misto do Bié and INEFOP de Viana will compete for third place.
Among the eight participating teams, there are Misto do Cuanza Sul, ranked fifth, Amigas da Alexa Tomas and HC, ranked sixth, and Centro de Reabilitação Profissional e Misto da Huíla, in 7th and 8th place, respectively.
